Well the new exhaust was delivered this week so I went and started to prepare the nuts and bolts ready to do the job and I'll be buggered the heat shield is a biatch of a thing to just access to take off.

Tried a while got one bolt out and spat it. Like wtf !

Unless I can get the shield and dump pipe off myself it'll be off to the exhaust place to get them to install.

So any pearls of wisdom on how to get the buggers off hehehe the shield etc I mean:)

Is the heat shield over the manifold? Not sure if your setup is the same as mine, but if so, it bolts into the manifold (i.e. steel not alloy) so you can try penetrene or similar and give the head of the bolts a love tap with a drift on top of the bolt heads to 'crack' the threads as it were - don't go heavy handed at it - few belts, try to undo (after penetrant has been on for a while), and repeat ...

That's ONLY if the heat shield is bolted to the manifold like mine ... others may have input/ideas also ...

Good luck with it fella!!

Once the bolts are out the fun really begins trying to hold your tounge the right way to get the shield out.
