View Full Version : No oomph in the morning.

When I take off in the morning I get no get up and go. Take a really long time to get revs up. If I put it in neutral and rev it up and back into drive all us normal again. Or if I just keep the throttle down whilst driving eventually it kicks in and takes off.
Is it a faulty throttle sensor issue, cos it only happens when car is off over night and when I get back to it after work. Nissan had on the pooter and of course doesn't register a fault.

I've got no oomph in morning either, but thats another matter.
does it drive ok once warmed up, sounds like not making boost
what are your gauges saying? Split boost hose. could be your TPS'
Leave your battery off for an hour may reset a few things
Thinking TPS big fellow, better sort it out as HANK is waiting for you.

Had 20k service this morning left the car off the rest of the day and retested but nothing happened, now they want car overnight to try in the morning. They to think throttle sensor but don't know which one?????also took DPChip off yesterday to see if anything changes and so Nissan don't see it.

Wise move with chip, they dont need to know, So throttle, or crank position sensor,

Coolant temp sensor?? Thats what generally controls fuel until NOT then the o2 sensor kicks in not sure if diesels work the same as petrol, or fuel pressure ?? The injectors could be leaking out while its parked for a long time eg over night and it might be getting a bit of an air lock till u rev it up and it bleeds it out.

im still a firm believer in warming up to operating temp while having coffee in the morning
i know both my gu,s went better the auto was sluggish when cold was a petrol 4.5
and the 3l gu manual does.nt like going with out a warm up
they tell me they dont need warming but i feel its best

mines the same, its just warming up i usually take it easy first up on a morning till she wakes up. i wouldnt bother with neutral just let it warm up under normal use.
mine also turns over better with 2 glows

That's a little OTT, IMO.

But why has it changed, 20000k and now decides to do it. Would rather have it fixed under warranty.

Have you disconnected the battery lately?? It may have rest the computer to run in mode.. Once the engine temps are low enough it restricts power untill up to opp temp??

No, I haven't disconnected any of the two batteries on board nor have I run the main battery flat. Well see what they say tomorrow morning hopefully it does it while its there and they fix it or hopefully it isn't there and all is back to normal. WIN/WIN situation I guess.

I don't have confidence in Mr Nissan by sure you'll change that, hopefully an easy fix so you can get on with more important things like Cod Classic.

No faults found, service done, now we see if it happens again. Disappointed they couldn't find anything but glad at the same time.

So what did they do in the service?.
Oil and filters including the fuel filter?.
service injectors?.

Diesels are mostly always sluggish when cold. It's to do with the ignition temp being too low to burn the fuel efficiently and remember do NOT warm an engine by idleing it as it creates more wear on internal components. It actually states this somewhere in the owners manual.

Yes it all does make sense but nothing has changed in the last 3 months.

Put some injector cleaner through it, also you injector pump could be getting tired but that might be expensive

It's only done 20k, wouldn't be pump or injectors, They probably found a fault but won't say.

All ok today, actually feels more zippy after the service. Lets prays it stays away.

They must be concerned or had no idea and guessed and want to see if it worked :)

Sounds suss to me, I'd be asking what did they actually do to the car and there-by not giving em reason to be finished with ya just yet.

They did my 20k service, scanned with no fault codes found, and specifically told they did nothing other than service and couldn't recreate the problem I was having. Alls good now, with a bit more zip in her step.

i woulsd say they reflashed the computor when they had the scanner on it, quite often when the services get done they reflash the ecu with updated software.

I dont believe them bro.
I agree with Stropp
Sounds like a problem factory knows about and not letting on about it.
Other wise every owner would be in asking for a check over, no money / profits in that.
Atleast your mobile again.
Cheers
