hey guys,

just picked up a nice GQ from my cousin. he bought it as a project but needs a car so is buying another mates GQ thats going etc etc. So I bought this one off him. it was a stick rb30 powered GQ but got a tb42 motor and box to go in along with a few goodies.

Will make up a build thread as i do it.

wow what a response than you very much EVERYONE. Never seen such a positive response to someone joining lol.

Anyways bit of background. The guy I bought it off is my cousin in law. he bought it off a guy who had it as a project. Wrecked his SWB and bought this LWB but got crook. He bought it off a bloke who was running some sort of chev in it. Dont know what variant but pretty sure it was a old chev prolly a 350.

He got the TB42 from his old boss at ARB and its how it sits now.

Not sure about turbo. Going to go back to carby for rwc and just to get it moving. I do have 550cc injectors, manifold and microtech LT16 also. Just missing exhaust side of things but knowing me I will want boost sooner or later haha.

Hoping to pick it up this weekend or next weekend depending on tow car availability.

Another mate of mine bought a GU with no motor, got a hold of a TD42 and has now turboed it. I live out near gisborne and am about 100mtrs from the Wombat State forest. So we have been out 4wding a far bit and I LOVE IT!!! lol

I got a old Nissan 720 atm with a commo v6 in it. Does the job but I want this patrol for more being comfy and capable to go away camping etc in. Maybe a bit of touring also one day. Hopefully the ol GQ will do me well.
