right ongoing problems with my

L28 mk patrol

have had the points replaced and the gap is set to 15thous but truck struggles to go above 30 ph and is down on power and backfires

I had a look at dizzy tonight and i noticed that there are some marks on the dizzy with letter r and a and a seires of marks so I am assuming the r means retard and a means advance the dizzy is set nearly on the r mark but the bracket its fits onto has a mark that is about halfway between the r and the a so would i be right in thinking that the ignition timing needs advancing and would i center it or take it more to to the a mark?

regards

Lee

timing chain gone slack or ignition timing, valve clearences could be out, even though they do tick a little for a petrol 6.
Possible vac advance not workin, check the base plate in the dizzy.
