Have had a heavy duty clutch put in 1995 patrol, noisy when clutch engaged but when disengaged no noise. Been told maybe gear box.
Any ideas

When you say engaged do you mean foot off the pedal?
It sounds like maybe thrust bearing but that usually makes noise when disengaged ie foot depressed on pedal. If so id be pissed it wasnt done when the clutch was replaced

The noisy rattle sounds like the input shaft bearing sorry to say.
