View Full Version : Strange noise from rear wheel

I've got a 92 GQ, rear disc brakes.
When I've been driving for a while or on a hot day, a really strange noise comes from the rear passenger wheel at low speeds, it's louder when cornering too but the noise goes away at about 20km/h. Taken the wheel off and nothing looks unusual, nothing rubbing etc so no idea. Hard to describe the noise, sort of a high pitches squeaky noise.
Any ideas?

Nah checked that, nothing rubbing anywhere that I can see anyway. Gonna take it in tomorrow for a look would just like to know what it is first.

I would have thought a stone caught behind the plate
or maybe your pads are worn down
then again a bearing

Nah brake pads have got heaps of meat on them. Just took wheel and brakes off again to double check, nothing looks out of the ordinary to me.
My apprentice mechanic mate reckons it's a bearing.
