Hi all,

Thanks for any help to start off with.

I am having major issues with the lpg. Petrol is fine. It seems like the gas isn't going through the line properly. Idles OK...not great but when taking off in any gear it coughs and splutters... it gets there but very rough...any ideas?

Thanks guys

New leads, sparkys, dizzy and rotor did the job...now to sort out the non starting on petrol and running shit on petrol...loose power etc...think that's the crap electronic ignition... time to bang a petronix in!

Does it do it from start up, are after a few K's?
Does the gas converter have frost or condensation on it when spluttering?
Could either be a simple tune needed, the gas converter has packed up, are a blocked coolant line causing the gas converter to freeze..

I can start her on gas but not petrol, she will fire on petrol but that's it. Also driving it in petrol the other day I lost acceleration, motor was still running but nothing with the foot down. Has to be the shit electronic ignition.... I hope as that's the next thing I'm replacing. As for the gas, she is running a dream ATM.

I would get your Carby looked at as if it is running OK on Gas it cant be the electronic ignition.
Seals in Carby have dried up. Get that looked at

When I did leads sparkys etc I had the Carby cleaned out, got venturi if this helps.... mechanic didn't mention anything about seals or a re build and 99% of the time they will tell you as they want more cash....maybe they didn't notice an issue? I have to get this right without wasting tonnes of cash, we are just making ends meet as it is. I'm very confused and don't wanna take it somewhere and just say fix....wish I was a mechanic myself.

Sorry for the dumb questions I'm trying to learn as much as possible. Can someone explain how the Carby works and why if the seals are stuffed would it fire but that's it....usually it runs fine on petrol once started on gas but seems to be playing up more and more...thanks guys

99% of gas prolems end up being electrical, change your sevice items as suggested and go get a tune, Buy a carbie clean can and gas rebuild kit and DIY.
Make sure you have no air locks. Just PM and I;\'ll go into more detail for you. akso have yoy tried turning gas on /off/on driving along as you can get air lock there to. What area you in Nothing better than nutting out problems over a few throffies and a $250 lamb cutlet LOL. We'll get it sorted

You may have a small filter going into carby which maybe blocked from as Bob suggested drying out. it will be in main fuel line going into carbi,.small cage unit
Really need to run on fuel a bit more often helps lubricate carby.Once sorted run a full tank on fuel. but hard ro get rid of fllat spots

I generally run one tank gas then one petrol...and over again...gas petrol. Only because I drive so far to work. So I am running a full tank of petrol once a week. It starts fine on gas just not at all on petrol...I have managed to start it on petrol a couple times but with difficulty. It starts on fuel 99% of the time but dies straight away and won't fire again. If I flick it to gas and apply the right foot I can get it to start on gas after it has fired on petrol but obviously with slot of trouble.....I'm confused as hell

Forget about gas and concerntrate on fuel, only of those solenoid will click gas off petrol on, thats where I would start.
Remove hose and turn over car should only have fuel. by the way its not DUEL FUELLING IS IT as both at same time

Might seem like a silly thing to say, but how old is the petrol in your tank. Apparently 91 octane starts losing its octane level/ability after just 1month, 95 after 3 months, and 98 lasts longest. I only put 95 or 98 in my petorl/gas GQ. I only maintain around 10 litres or so in the tank. That way it gets fresh fuel more often. Also, is your petrol gauge accurate? Both GQ's I have had, fuel gauges didn't work properly when tank was/is low on fuel. I also have a problem starting mine from cold and keeping it going on petrol till warmed up if petrol is too low in tank. Hope it helps.

Can you reset the computer for the gas. some times it works just being re set.

I run a full tank of petrol through her weekly... So it's not that issue. Once she is warm it runs fine on petrol just won't start on it. And I wouldn't have a view about resetting the computer. I doubt that'd be the issue anyway.. I'm still leaning towards the electronic ignition to be honest
