Hi all.

I Have a 2001 GU Patrol station wagon. Just recently my wife noticed a knocking( i can confirm) sound and feeling in the floor pan when turning left and going over a bump. It does'nt do it when only turning left....it only does it when turning left and hitting a bump in the road or going into a drive way.......Any thought?

Start with checking all your bushes for wear

Body or engine mount? Have you checked the radius arm rubbers, and all steering bushes etc mate? Just to be sure, to be sure ...

Other than that, I had knock turning left under similar circumstances to you, and it turned out to be the passenger side engine mount ...

Could u feel it under the floor pan as well as hear the knock? I have the same problem but put it down to worn bushes like everything else on the car *L*

Yep, it can be felt through the floor pan....I just had the engine mounts checked and both are good. Radius arms look good. I'm wondering if it could be a tie rod end......

Check your body mounts and also the rear most bush on your radius arm where it goes into the chassis.

Jack it up and check everything with a large screwdriver or similar, if hitting the floor can't be to hard to find I would think

Mate, I would be checking the cab/body mounts, I had the same problem with my ute and it was the cab mounts, only found out after changing all the suspension bushes and they were the only thing left to do.
