Not sure how that compares to your Petrol prices? Here in UK LPG is typically half the petrol prices at the forecourt. Although you use more LPG by volume the running cost here per equivalent cost per mile, is much cheaper on LPG.
That said , duty has gone up a lot here too. So what we do is transfer from 47kg bottles via transfer pump, now that really is cheap as there's not any road duty tax on camping gas :)
(just don't tell anyone ! )

The closer it gets to the magical $1.00 per litre the closer I am of removing the lgp and installing a long range fuel cell instead.
The savings to operate on lpg needs to be considerable to make it worth while, otherwise there isnt any real incentive to stay "green".

My Patrol 4.5L
Petrol
16 Litres per 100K's @ $1.42 = $22.72 Cost per 100 K's
LPG
18 Litres per 100K's @ $0.628=$11.10 Cost per 100 K's
18 Litres per 100K's @$1 = $18 Cost per 100K's
18 Litres per 100K's @$1,262 = $22.72 per 100K's
At $1.262 you are at the same cost as Petrol per 100K's.
BTW figures for a Diesel
12 Litres per 100K's @$1.478 = $17.736 Cost per 100K's
Better Range
The Fuel Prices are taken from the RACV Site in Melbourne

Wow, wish we could get lgp for .62c per litre.
The average price up this way is around .89c per litre and has been as high as .96c per litre.
Under power/load my 4.5 uses 22 to 24 per 100k calculates out to just under $20.00 per 100k.
Best I start looking a long range fuel tank,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

wouldn't put it in at 80 cents , anyway bob can you tell me how many Ks you'll get on gas for $50, and how many Ks on ulp for $50
Starting to think it's run its race, and as BigFella says wheres the incentive to stay "GREEN"
It was only 10c a ltr with my other 4x4

ULP $50 would get 220 K's using 35.21 Litres @ $1.42 = $50
LPG $50 would get 450 K's using 79.62 Litres @ $0.628 = $50
These are Crusing Figures
I use 22 Litres per 100 K's on LPG towing my Camper Van but dont know what the consumption on ULP is

So still worthwhile putting it in on ULP maybe 20-25 /100. Is yours sequential injection gas system as I think they have bugger all power loss, like gas research

Mine is not the Direct Injection system but I do not notice that much Power Loss (if any) from ULP to LPG.
The Tuning is left to a LPG specialist tuner in Bendigo.
I have found that when my Patrol goes into a normal Garage they alter the Timing and other things which I then notice a Power drop.
Now nobody alters anything on my Patrol except the LPG specialist.
The Patrol always starts on ULP and swithes automatically to LPG

I must have a similar system to bob in mine, but i dont get anywhere near 18/100 out of my gas, im dreaming to get 20/100. i got 25/100 out of my last fuel up. (100L combo gas and petrol). It is still cheaper now for me to run on gas then petrol, even with my terrible figures.
Gas is around 75c/L up here, petrol is about 150c/L

I think your Lift and Wheels might have something to to with Fuel Consumption. Also is that around town as my figures are for cruising

Some set the gas via a sensor in tail pipe, but gas likes it advanced , so would probably ping running back on ULP
Do you use "Ys" or "Ts" for the water

I think Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) would be the way to go if vehicle was only a daily drive 2 and from work and of course you worked fairly local to home, fill up at home and you know what your paying each fill as price doesn't fluctuate each day. The fuel consumption isn't great but I still think it would work out a lot cheaper in the long run.

Done a little bit of research a while ago, didn't have the money at the time 2 install and can't for the life of me remember what it was to convert, but yeh more expensive than lpg to set up, but still in the long run think it would be worth while if just running around, I was thinking for myself more a second car that I used just to and from work each day and leave the Patrol for the weekend playing.

mate you would need a 100+ tank to run up that hill of yours on gas it would struggle on them tight bends

Yea the lift and wheels wont help, but i keep that in the back of my mind. My figures are about half city half highway.
