a 20kg lamb chopped up and packaged will cost you $100, then all you need is a few bag of spuds, carrorts etc'o\
Ontop af that 3-4 tubs of butter, tom sauce bbq sauce, some lettuce, maybe 5kg of snags, vairiety, some graey mix salt ,pepper
depends how many are attending but $200 would give you a feast for 15-20 members. A few of us have AUSPIT too so we could bring them
as well, but not sure Mego is attending. this come be the feed of the century if planned right. 6 loaves of bread rolls etc. couple doz eggs
See what answers I get to this first. 15 -20 members at $20 FROM each member is nothing for for a feed friday saturday and sunday morning

TD and BA. I have the friday off. Let me know what time you can leave.
I can leave pretty much anytime after I drop the kids off to school. Providing I'm ready myself. So I can get up early than AB to secure the Water gauge site. Some numbers on who is going would be easier to see how much of the area we need to secure. Thats if AB doesn't mind me getting there before him...
Easiest maybe to chuck a thanks in here. This will tell me and everyone else who is a definite.
I will be just going for Friday night, and have to leave at probably 1pm the latest, as I have a shindig on Saturday night I have to go to. Unless one of their kids get sick like I have mentioned. Lets hope. Then I'll stay the extra night. Will have to work out a way to mark the spots so other campers don't take them.
Sir Roofy
5th November 2012, 10:27 AM
At this stage you have 17 spaces to cover plus any one else who shows up
water gauge might be a bit tight

When I was there just this weekend gone, I noticed the was a sign for the Toyota 4x4 club and they had the massive clearing right at the start of the camp ground. You could fit 100 cars there. But it was fenced off and somehow they were all behind the fence with their cars too. That would be a sure thing that spot. From there on there is tonnes of camp sites but like Water Gauge they are all spread out. Maybe the DSE or Parks Victoria let them in but as we are technically not a club, don't know. Would be a great spot to get all the 4by's lined up for a photo shoot...
Funny thing was there was only about 5 cars there. Yotas must be real popular :hpfredgeorge1:

Sorry if I sound like a lazy feck, but this is my first ever meet with any sort of group. So I just thought I would bring my own stuff since I'm only there for a night. I don't really know what to do... By the sounds of it Saturday night will be the feast night anyhow as Friday night people will still be turning up.
As for the people who will be turning up in the dark, just look for the city lights in the bush from threedogs' setup :) I have my two light sticks I made aswell.
The pic doesn't do it justice. Theres are more than enough light there, even with jut one of them on... The centre one is diffused and the side one not.

Bread AKA Damper sounds like a brilliant idea..
Apart from the roast myself and turtle will be bring all of our own food and cookware (besides camp ovens as we dont have any haha). So we will have pretty much everything you listed there with us.. Im thinking it might just be easier if everyone brings all of there own gear to be self sufficiant (just in case) except for the sat night when we have the roast cookup?

Bread AKA Damper sounds like a brilliant idea..
Apart from the roast myself and turtle will be bring all of our own food and cookware (besides camp ovens as we dont have any haha). So we will have pretty much everything you listed there with us.. Im thinking it might just be easier if everyone brings all of there own gear to be self sufficiant (just in case) except for the sat night when we have the roast cookup?
Fletcha
Yeah I agree.
I'm good for my own food for all meals but Saturday night where a big cook up would be a winner otherwise it will fall on a few to do allot and that's not the point.

Should be a lot less than that... I bought 2 big roasts at Loveday and i think it came to around 7 bucks each between 10 people...anyway it will depend on how many people are there for saturday

that would be more reasonable, when we did a couple it was about that and AB and others brought the vegies

I'm thinking $5 each will be fine, we will bring the roasts and veggies (potato, carrot, pumpkin, onion and parsnip).. That's for the sat night and apart from that we will be self sufficient.. So sounds like we will have plenty of camp ovens that people are bringing so should be good..
We will also bring gravey and proper knives and stuff for the roast..
So if everyone chips in $5 would be fine guys

Well, its the "get together" of the forumites which i think is important. Theres lots of tracks out there (theres one opposite Bull ck rd, not far after Water Gauge I wouldn't mind having a quick scoot up) to be had. They'll be out there having fun. Remeber. Lots of pictures guys..

Hi Roofy, thanks for the offer. The item is an ARB dual battery tray.
To be honest I was hoping that someone might be coming through the Latrobe Valley who could call in or I could meet in Traralgon. A couple of hours of specially driving to Traf & back makes a give away item a bit costly. Darren's not desperate for it, so perhaps if no one is passing through I could drop it off to you one day when I,m heading past your place & you could pass it on to Darren at another time?
In the meantime is anyone else likely to be heading to the meet either from the Valley or further east?

For sure mate it was flowing good the other day. I want to make sure we get back to camp at 4-5pm so we can chill out, fish, drink, talk bollocks and cook, etc rather then 4wd until dark.

As there is so many coming and I am bringing my trailer I would suggest we have proper bins for all the rubbish... we can recycle also and as I am leaving Saturday evening if someone else can bring my trailer back with the rubbish and then I can take it with me to Toorak where I put all the bins out for a large complex....
I might even grab some large wheelie bins???
Any way let me know what you think??

I'll bring the grappa but I ain't eating one of those scorpions. While I can eat hot chilli's there comes a time where you have to man up and wuss out and this is it. The sauce version I would definately go though. I watched a youtube vid of a guy eating a tiny section of one, no bigger than your little finger nail. He was k.o'd for a couple of hours after. I don't wanna risk stuffing my one and only night. Otherwise I'll be dragging my arse around on the grass the morning after trying to excrete the seeds.
