Radio reception on my gq sucks who has a fix?

The radio reception in my gq plain sucks. Iv tried different head units and different types of antennas.
Currently running last years model pioneer usb cd player. Any tips or advice?

this is the sort of thing, i have one in my other car due to it having a pi$$y antenna and it workes a treat:

Mine sucks too no matter what I try. My solution is to just plug the iPod into it and listen to only that.

Are you running one? I have already tried a stand alone electronic antenna it was a waste of cash.

Did the factory gq one work with after market head units or only the factory?

yeah im running original antenna and a JVC deck, in deni reception is pathetic on the radio but after installing one of those there was a noticeable difference.

The antenna, few here have new head unit, new antenna and its the same, I'd be running a wire to earth,
my question is how can new unit/antenna fail, has to be installation IMO or crap area

Don't know how to do link thingy but try LASER antennas in melb, I get TV reception anywhere
highly recommend. or get a combo UHF/am/fm Antenna

A tree broke (and by tree I mean me) my antenna in half and I still get grouse reception (30ks out of Melbourne though), tend to agree with either poor earth or perhaps your aerial cable has rubbed/vibrated against some non bushed metal and worn through the braided shield on the coax cable. Just a thought. Good luck mate.

You'd be surprised how many times this is the fault,
put this one in the memory bank from some mates
who installed for JB HI-FI. good to know your stuff
or someone who can assist. But alas most these days
don't give out free info, book it in they say. RRs holes

Yeah mine is bent and is zip tied to the snorkel and works perfectly!!!!!!!
