Just got myself a "new" 1999 4.5L petrol Patrol (Y61 or GU1?) in very good nic. As you can see I'm new to Nissan Patrols and help and advice with the new babe will be most welcome. Not easy in this neck of the woods because Patrols are few and far between in SA. We've decided to call the beast Attila, and she is hopefully destined to take us to the roof of Africa - but for that she needs to be reliable and well cared for. Therefore, I'm going to need plenty of guidance on "soft spots" and things to watch for.

Live down the Natal south coast, a couple of hours drive from the Wild Coast in one direction and the Drakensberg mountains in the other. Despite the obvious problems, still a great outdoors.

No doubt you sort the mud issue out very quickly, Nice ride . Is the pic taken from private chopper LOL
Just out of interest what are fuel prices over your way only diesel and ULP ??
Now Attilla and its a girl, I'm a bit confused but thats easy to do these days.
Take no prisoners, ruthless kind of 4x4. like that roof rack to. thinking of similar style. More pics please.

Fuel is around 1.35AUD per litre (enough to make you cry with the 4.5L ). As for Attila - she is a thug and will give the other big boys a run for their money! As for the mud - next stop is the highest pub in Africa on top of Sani Pass. Look it up.
