Hi guys new to a Nissan patrol 3ltr 05sts love the wagon just have a issue in any gear I give it a bit of right foot and I have good boost to start and then it seems flat and also when I take off under a bit of load seems doey is this normal it's really the only 3ltr I have driven I'm not sure if it's over boosting or anything else I should have a look at

Mine was as you put it: "doey" in its stock form. Different beast now after I've wrestled the control of the turbo charger from the engine ECU away.
So perhaps you need to tell us if your has any NADS mods fitted or is it a stock unit?
Do you have a boost gauge fitted?
Or at least ECU Talk cable/software and laptop so you could observe what the engine ECU sees with boost.
If yours is overboosting than you would loose throttle as it goes in to LIMP mode and until you release the accelerator pedal you got nothing.
Is that the case?

Have you got a boost gauge to see what the turbo is up to?
Does the 'engine check light' come on??
Are you auto or manual?
An auto 2010 mdl I drove felt doughy as.
Mine was a slug off the mark standard unless I got into it. 2000rpm+ before boost kicked in and then I had some reply.
3" mandrel hi flow exhaust sorted that out. That then caused me massive over-boost issues on highway. Dawes valve sorted that out.
Boost is now kicking in about 1300rpm, fully on about 1900-2000. Similar kW but kicking in lower down.
Mine was set at 17psi and was fine for a while but has recently caused me major frustrations.
It was dying under load from second gear upward.
I reduced the boost to about 14-15psi after some helpful people on this forum, cheers Threedogs, Rumcajs and a few others I spoke to.
Now I have slightly less boost, it appears to have prevented the computer from getting an 'overboost' signal and trying to choke my engine.
Engine runs smooth as

Hey thanks for the replies it is a stock unit with no modes done yet no boost gauge etc only had it for a week it goes flat then if you lift and come back on slightly but not real noticeable like a surge back in power

You need boost gauge to see what is going on, or at least access to engine ECU sensors. ECU talk software and cable is brilliant for that. ---> ECU talk interface (http://www.ecutalk.com/interface.aspx)
You'll probably need the one with so called fake OBDII plug if yours is 2005 model and it is one of the best things you can "waste" your money on especially if you own/drive ZD30 powered Patrol.
It is also possible that you have an issue with EGR valve as ECU uses it to control boost in a way as well.
I suggest that as a minimum you fit closed crankcase ventilation (CCV) oil separator like Provent 200 ,boost gauge and exhaust gases temperature gauge asap.
If you are in Adelaide I can lend you a hand to quickly check what is going on.

Hey thanks for the offer I'm out bush at narrabri I'm going to get a pod with gauges
Do you think blocking egr valve after I put gauges on and the adjust over boosting with a dawes valve etc to around 14 15 psi

I mounted the catch can on LHS near the bulk head, where the ABS module would normally be.
Yeah I did all the NADS mods and the Patrol behaves much better.
