Hey everyone, So yesterday I drove my car around pretty much all day, Then I turned it off and it wouldnt start, The issue turned out to be an engine control fuse, Which I then replaced and it was fine again, Drove it home an switched it off for an hour or so then went for a play up the mountains, everything was working fine, came home turned it off, Went to start it today an was completely dead didnt wind over once, So I called up the local auto elec for a jump $50 later it started, ran for about a 30 secs an the airbag light was flashing, went to take off an the engine stopped as if it wasnt getting fuel, now im back to square 1 but with $50 less, also battery is brand new since sunday its an RACV with 850cca Ideas? alternator?

Have you checked all the main fuses? and battery connections?
What SOC is the battery at?
Do the warning lights in the dash come on when you turn the ignition on?
Will it start if you try and jump start it? is the alternator charging?

Nah I havent, Its coming from inside the vehicle, Cause when I disconnect the loom going through the firewall the draw stops, It did have an alarm system which I thought could do it but ive unplugged all of that and its still drawing current, Now the dash is in bits like on that supercheap auto ad lol.

EDIT---nice find, nothing like a bit of AC power in a DCtive system....or a dead short.
Glad its fixed mate.
You posted same time as I was trying to teach myself to type
I would
A open circuit battery (complete disconnect, including earth) Open circuit starter motor main feed and solenoid, remove all fuses and relays (noting exactly where they came from) and unplug alternator (including any positive battery feed)
B put a clamp-meter on positive lead, re-attach
C re-attatch earth
D. Re-attatch alternator checking current draw, same for alternator main feed.
E Proceed fom there (check and RECHECK all aftermarket accessories)
If the alternator, starter motor, fuses and relays are pulled..... and it has a current draw, gunna be a loom fault.
And they are AWESOME to find.
