wet oil stains

gday, in the process of replacing cooling components on 98 gu 4.5l. but have noticed wet oil stains on the exhaust manifold bolts. is this a problem? checked the compression a few months ago and results were like new. could it be a cracked head/blown head gasket, or worn rings and the earlier compression test was like doing a wet test. the wagon had sat for a while befor the compression test was done. no exhaust smoke of any kind. starting to think its time to sell,

Check your rocker cover gasket mate it could have gone hard over time and isnt sealing correctly anymore. Also as time goes by the rubbers on the bolts for the rocker cover compress and may just need a re-tension. I would start here before going as drastic as selling

$2 degreaser from supa cheap. Clean it well & take it for a run. Then have another look. Easiest way to diagnose

yea, thats what i ended up checking, it was a little loose. see how it goes.
