Just after this photo was taken my camera died. It's a 'superzoom camera, fixed lens, & now all it tells me is that it has a lens error, makes graunchy sorts of noises then shuts down. Still have a tiny Sony T9 (point & shoot) - which will have to do for now. B*llocks!

Did all of 30kms today, met a couple who live in great dugout & have an opal claim. Our camp tonight on their claim.

Interesting filter to play around with, Photo needs to be taken looking down on subject & lighting needs to be good. My camera has the filter built in, but I used Photoscape (http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/index.php) editing program for this one, works OK, but not as good as the camera one.

The program is a free download & has some good features.

Had a couple of kms of 1st low rock & roll getting in to last night's camp spot..... up on Tassie's Central Plateau.
Result was a lake all to ourselves, (& a few 'Forester' roos plus a quoll).
Passed another Patrol on his way out. He wound down his window & called out "Where the hell are you taking THAT?"

82570 The water dip at Ngkala Rocks heading South. We managed to get stuck for a short while on our way north in the soft Sandy part after the water dip until I worked it out ie( more oomph required)!

Note the Kauri Pine cones around the post that fall in November and December as the notice says in the old logging area at Central Station but nowhere around the campsite. The Patrol got a lovely bonk on the head with one just above the windscreen. (Just a little dent).

Yes I have considered a lift, but it does not gain me a hell of a lot with the diffs staying exactly where they are. For me and for what I want to do with the vehicle, it just doesn't have enough benefit to justify the cost.

Finally managed to get away for a couple of days out into The Pilliga Scrub, NSW. Country is looking amazing after all the recent rain. Never see this much water in the creeks especially in December.

Tough going getting in there, most of the tracks have been damaged or completly washed away. Many of the larger creek crossings were dodgy, luckily this one had a firm bottom.
