My Trol failed it's MOT (UK) 'cause the rear brakes weren't working :mad:
So as I'd recently done a body lift and suspension lift I assumed it was simply the Load sensor needed adjustment. It wasn't , it was fooked, as in solid, siezed, chuffing useless :1087:
I rang my local motor factors for a price and was gasping for air shortly after being told it would be £440 + 20% VAT :blowup:
Re think............................................. .............ah, manual brake bias it is then . a quick spy on ebay and I bought a "Willwood" copy manual brake bias adjuster lever. It's got 7 preset positions on it ranging from 60% to zero. £43 , sorted :clapping:
Bought some new pipe and fittings too and got my spanners out.

Decided to mount the lever next to the gear lever as there's plenty of space there and the brake pipes run on the chassis just below.

Oiked off all the plastic surround and drilled a hole to fit the lever.

Mounted the lever in place and was pleased :)

Here's a shot of the pipes fitted in and out. This is the original pipe to the back end on the input side and then new pipe off the back going off to where the sensor valve was.

Here's where the old load sensor was, I simply binned the old one and fitted instead a simple T piece.

I changed all the pipes at the back end as they were corroding under all the brake clips :@ Then bled the system and refitted the gear lever surround. I had to trim that a bit to make room for my fat fingers to grip the lever

While I was under the old girl I noticed the diff lock actuator had some iffy pipes too. So used some more brake pipe to replace that too.

All,s well again now and it passed the MOT with flying colours, infact I had to adjust the back brakes down a bit as they were too high. Nearly as much as the front lol.
next day went for a quick spin offroading , just to make sure it was all working still :bananarock:
