Hi all,
Obviously my name is Matt.
Bought a 97 GQ wagon from my aunty,
It had a snapped crankshaft and was fitted with the ever trusty (pffttt yeah right) 2.8td.
Yeah that didnt last long. Right now it has a Ford 5.0l v8 sitting in it, yeah i thought it sounded good too.

Anyways looking forward to hearing from you guys

Welcome 2 the forum Matt,

Sounds like you went backwards putting a Ford motor in a Patrol, think the I would trust the 2.8td more.

Great bunch of members on here always willing 2 help out where they can

Enjoy the forum and what it has 2 offer

Cheers

Todd

Welcome mate, surely the best forum on the net. If you need it, you can get it, if you want to know it, just ask it.

Sent from the secret chambers of our secret society, on a secret iPhone, with a secret pin code and eye retina scanning from a secret peep hole, just don't tell anyone OK, cos it's secret........

after it snapping the crank at number 5bigend and only have done 97,000kms and always babied by my aunty, backwards i think not. I asked around for ages about rebuilding, replacing and was told by all the 4wd wreckers and custom shops around and all of them talked me out of it and most of them had at least 1 2.8td getting repaired

the end product has come out sweet. It looks fantastic and yes it has cost me alot of money but only because i have very high standards for my work. Everything at the least is rebuilt and most is new. I will find some pics and put up.

Yeah it is real nice. When I picked it up from her, she gave me the original rear seat headrests still in their plastic covering from factory. Haha yeah no. My aunty never had the v8. I built that one.
