i replaced my cylinder head this weekend. started it today in the morning and and everything was running perfectly ok. better then before.
did couple of short trips and it was ok.
then i did one a bit longer one in the afternoon and all of a sudden there was no idle.
it runs good when i push the accelerator pedal but as soon as i let it go it just stalls. could it be there is some dirt in the carby that felt in there when i had it removed? and is there a way of cleanaing it without taking the carby off.
it's TB42s
cheers.

Mate the TB42s carbs run whats called & idle stop solenoid which cuts the idle circuits fuel supply. This solenoid is electrically powered by the ignition & its intended to prevent run on or pre ignition after you shut the engine down.

It sounds like you may have a bad plug connection which is preventing the solenoid from opening which in turn will stop your engine from idling.

It can be a common glitch to find electrical plugs won't always make a good connection after its been disconnected, so I'd try finding all the electrical connections/plugs attached to the carby & pull them apart, maybe giving each one a squirt of electrical terminal cleaner & plug them back together & see if that sorts it for you.

Maybe go over all the plugs you had to disconnect to change the head while your at it just to be sure.

Let us know how you get on.
