Hi all, what is the best pistons for a 94 silver top TD 42 which has the smaller 28 mm gudgeon pin ? I have a luxon after market turbo as well. Is there a turbo piston out there with a 28mm pin ? i have searched with no success. I have read that the HYPATEC are OK.

Get hypertec's and then send them to jet hot coatings to do there thing = nearly indestructible.

You need to nut out what you want exactly then go from there. A standard engine can handle a mild setup without any dramas but if your wanting a fire breathing weapon of a thing then different rods, pistons ceramic coating, intercoolers, headwork will all come into it so if you could give us a little more info we may be able to give you a more precise point of direction

I cant afford to go too nuts, but because i have to replace pistons and rings i would rather spend a little more and get something that can handle more than the normal 8-10 psi boost. I hope to run say 12-14 psi, this seems to be the happy medium between performance and longevity from what i have read. ( would love to run more if convinced)

This is where im at- TD 42 with no pistons/ rings yet, luxon turbo @ 8 psi, custom dump pipe, 3 " straight through exhaust, donaldson air filter housing. standard fuel pump. boost temp oil pyro.

On the to do list - Big top mount intercooler, bonnet scoop, wind boost 12-14 psi and fuel up, dynotune.

Any thing i have forgotten ?

Cheers Chris.
