when I drive along I like to acknowledge fellow Patrol drivers especially ones the same colour.
My dilemma is who's a Forum member and who's not, though all are worthy.
My 4x4 sticks out, Same like Mego's I would think, but who have I past and not met yet.
Will be meeting a few up the Murray on the 12th of Oct. might have to hold the "Talking Stick"
at the camp fire and figure it out. ... unless there is one already.
Just PM if you want to come fishing/camping

has to be the lifting of the index finger on the right hand being careful to keep hold of the steering wheel at the same time?
we've all seen the old farmer Joe's do it at some point in time!

Ahhhh the very lazy one finger salute, I like it. Now we just need everyone to start using it.
Use it now anyway, lol will try tomorrow driving around.

My Patrol has "www.NissanPatrol.com.au" across the Windscreen which is OK if you are coming towards me

Yep, just plaster it in Nissanpatrol.com stickers! Lol easy fixed.
Or put your username across the front windscreen. Although some have more "user friendly" usernames than others.....

Gone are those days when everyone did it, such a shame.......the only place that I have seen it used regularly was crossing the Nullarbor and also on my way up to Broome

Country roads I'll always wave, just seems like the right thing to do as I'm now in their backyard,
and in the event of if you break down might just be the guy you waved too, stop on the way back to help
but as Big Fella said sadly not many people give a S$%T these days, sad really

Wow, would love to but unfortunately can't make that weekend. It is my mothers 75 birthday and the whole family is having a get together.
I just said to the misses last night if she wanted to go to Yarrawonga this weekend, as we have close friends that live up there. But that's no good either as his parents are going up this weekend so I won't intrude.
I would have came up for sure as I have never been there and would love to see that part of the river, as my fishing holes are closed to ALL fishing between Yarrawonga weir to the newell highway bridge in Tocumwal.
Man, even as I write this, I am trying figure out how I can get up there, even for a day. But will be difficult.
Leave home Friday say 3.30pm get there 6.30-7 but then have to leave latest 12/1 o'clock and if I fish and drink the night away, I might not leave.

Yeah it's till alive and well down here,

But just another point about courtesy, is it just me or is the old tradition of a flash of the headlights when the police are around seem to be dying out.

You still get the odd one do it, but not as many as you used to.

Most times ill flash my headlights to say a warning for the oncoming driver. It might be for police, a tractor on the road, cattle, etc etc..... But i think a lot of people stopped doing it because there were campaigns by the police (here anyway) saying that it was illegal and you would be fined if caught flashing your headlights to warn of police.

Growlers sort of flashing has always been illegal as far as i know!!!

Heres a good one: If you were going to flick the haedlights to warn someone then wave first, if they snob you dont warn them, if they way then warn them:)

Bugger them shouldn't be speeding anyway, and as for Growler with comments like "peel cheek"
whats one to think. Drove my son to pick up his car one time, an idiot speeding, weaving the lot.
Told my son why does he do that, we pulled up next to him at the lights, they turned green and he
was off again , next set of lights ,you guessed it right next to him, just looked at him and laughed
what a poon.

how about we patrol owners use the left hand finger
yes we do the right finger salute here in s.a. but mainly in the country and the young ones dont know what it means .I was raised in the country and my dad taught me from an early age
so all the farmers kids that sat in the front seat would give the salute also
dad said it was funny to watch and it only happened in our district

i flash depending on who it is, as a tradie i always flash them as getting from job to job is there livelyhood more so then an officeworker who is easier to arrange transport. but if i see a wanker in a skyline/beat up falcon/commador or typical sort of hoon car ill leave them specialy if they seem to be speeding at the time

I wave all the time. Some days everybody waves back, other days, nobody waves. Sometimes I even reciprocate. lol

Generally, people do wave in the country, but when some people move back to the big smoke, they lose touch with the 'country style' .lololol

Note to self: buy doggie a bouncing doggie or a waving hand for the dashboard . lol

Its not only about speeding.
If you can tell that someone is doing a little over the speed limit with your eyes as they pass you then you're on a winner there! Im not for excessive speeding but a few k's over is fine by me. Way dodgier driving habbits out there.

Flashing for me could be dangerous as I light up the universe with all the spotties. I do normally flash when the po is around as I've given enough money for at least a few hundred people not to be fined.
As for the wave, I only wave on the in to my destination but not on the way out. Too tired. But I will wave back.
