Pull out the Dash section were the Stereo is located GRX 2005

I need to replace the Stereo but I do not know if the section were the Stereo is located can be pull out without breaking something, anyone with a diagram of it or a video on how to do it?

which model patrol do you have? GQ = Y60, GU = Y61? Oops, just noticed GXR 2005 in heading - dunno how to do those ones. Someone who does will be along, or try the search function?

For the GQ, look for a few screws above the airvents, one or two behind the ash tray, two either side down low on the sides of the console. I think that's it. The wiring is long enough to allow access to the plugs on the switches, at least the factory ones are.

Never done a GU.

Should be a/some screws underneath that centre section, once screws are out it clips out.
only from looking at mate fitting mine.

I dont have any screws in mine and its an 04 there are 2 slots on the lower side i think to put a small lever in and it just pops out

There are 2 screws at the bottom of the fascia above the heater switches, undo then it just unclips and 4 screws to remove if its a 2 din stereo
