ringgear for 2001 4.2 td turbo auto y61gu

hi guys,i have lost some teeth of ringear.nissan want over $1000 for new one,i can get one out of a 1994 4.2 turbo auto??will it work???any help appreciated.regards billyt

Hey champ, ring gear should be the same as all td's run the same starter motor. Did you do the auto conversion?
Also you should pop around to the introduction section :)

thanks johno, we wont know if it fits until it is on the deck. The gear box is an original auto. Vehicle is all original. What i am worried about is the guys have quoted $400 in and out and $90 for the ring gear. I've done alot of business with them over the years, top outfit, but if it doesnt fit, my truck is off the road until we import a ringgear from Japan or Aussie. Do i take the chance? and say a prayer. Regards Rog

Id take the risk man, cause at the end of the day theres only one way to find out. Also $400 is a pretty good price.
