Hey guys,
Im looking at getting a Tunit diesel performance chip with Redback 2.5" Hi-Flow exhaust system fitted to my 2002 GU111 3.0TD.
Went to Daalder Exhaust in Dandenong today for a quote & info.
They recommended to not go for a 3" exhaust & stick with 2.5". Reason being the 2.5" gives more low down torque for off-road & better fuel economy.

Specs of improvement with chip set on #5 only are
Standard 119Kw, with Tunit chip 145Kw

Standard 380Nm, with Tunit chip 420Nm

And i was told by Daalder exhaust that both Kw & Nm would improve even more by an extra 5-10% with the Redback 2.5" exhaust system fitted

Has anybody fitted either the Tunit chip or Redback 2.5" Hi-Flow exhaust to a GU 3.0TD??
Any feedback please

Hey mate, are you going to be at the 4x4 meet up at Neerum creek?

I would like to put one of our modules on your car the meetup if you are going to be there

I have talked with the guy who designed that 2.5" Redback system and he is adamant that it is the best system for a ZD30 (whether DI or CRD), for the reasons you mention - better mid-range torque, and improved fuel economy. He went through a lot of steel of various diameters to arrive at the 2.5 as best.

I plan to swap my 3" Scotts Rods system for the Redback 2.5", and will be doing same day dyno runs on both when I do. It won't be for quite a few weeks yet though.

Got a better deal tho, getting fitted with exhaust & chip at same time & paying cash

will fitting the exhaust void my Nissan warranty ?

No, Nissan isn't too fussed about exhaust systems.

Chips could be a different story, but I am yet to see evidence of a warranty claim being knocked back due to the presence of a chip.

Having said that, I think it's wise to play on the safe side, and remove the wiring and chip for dealer servicing.

A1 Exhausts at Caboolture if that's not too far out of your way - I can personally vouch for those guys. Otherwise there are half a dozen A1 stores across Brissy. Maybe call the Caboolture store and ask which store they recommend - not all franchises are created equal :)

Is the Redback Exhaust better or the Beaudesert Exhaust better ?

Which one has more following on this forum ?

i have heard redback are currently releasing, or have realeased a new range of exhausts and are aiming at the likes of beaudesert and taipan XP. I think thats great as more competition can only be good for us in the long run. Havent met anyone with a redback installed yet, and i havent head many bad things about BD pipes so it would be hard to say which is best atm.
