Air filter box damaged seal

Hi guys,
Just wanted some advice in regards to my air filter box on my 2.8L GU Patrol.
When replacing my air filter I noticed that the seal where the lid clamps down onto the box is fairly shot in fact half missing.

Can anyone suggest the best way to seal the airbox without having to replace the whole box?

If its just the seal then get a sheet of high density rubber from Clarke Rubber and make a new one.

Im looking into replacing my entire airbox for my GQ 2.8TD with one from a VS-VR commodore so I can (easily) put a snorkel on my truck.

Picked up a piece of rubber from Rare Spares. Just took a broken piece in as a sample. Cost $2.00 and fit perfectly.
