Marks adapters does them there in Vic they do the post I'm not 100% sure but I'd be guessing more than 5gs to set it all up I'm running an rb30 carb and it's far from gutless havnt found much that can stop it

mainly need the uphill at high speed power/torque as i have trouble with long steep hills at 100km/h it struggles at 60-70 unless i want to sit at 4-5k for long periods of time. mainly because i live in the hills and would like to get closer to the speed limit. also has 33"x 12" muddies and 2" lift, snorkel 280,000kms. wouldnt be as bad with 31" skinnies but that would be no fun haha. but yeah at slow speeds with good use of the right pedal its unstoppable

Yeah I'm sitting about 5" 35s and a lot of other gear but I get ya point on the long hills have to change 3&4th all the time but with any engine change there is massive dollars involved maybe inject it and extractors exhaust filter etc and probily work out less than 1500 That's my plan eventually and a nice tune

if it were me I would give the bottom end a freshen up and put the 25 head and all the other good gear on top. There are plenty or street cars with that combo, they are reliable and powerful

x2 from my understanding there is very good power to be had from an RB30 with a RB25 DET Head. I would think you would find some good info on this kind of conversion in some of the boy racer forums like skylinesdownunder.

yeah was thinking about that 25/30 combo, a whole rb25det engine can be pretty cheap, ill probably do that when the finances come together haha

i hear what your saying with the carb mate, ive converted mine to injection and chuckd extractors and2.5 inch exhaust on plus a snorkle and couldnt be more happy with the power and econemy im getting,i have no problems going up big hills now even towing my campertrailer..actually spose i could be happier if i went with a turbo as well buuut,,money.money..ive spent enuff at the moment..we did all the conversion very cheap by buying a vl comodore for 600 ripping everything outve it that we needed then i parted the rest out and got the 600 back..cant complain about that..i thourolly reccomend this conversion

I have done a few Rb30et conversions and if you look around it can be done for around $1000 and some dirty hands.

Dont waste time with RB25 head use the RB26 head.
smallish twin turbos for quicker spooling.
many performance work shops doing that conversion to AU released skylines.
and you will be worrying about the gear box spitting the dummy next !!. lol.
remember the RB30 box is weaker than 4.2 boxes.
your box is out of 300zx.

brand new blank head around $1200.
2nd/h with cams $1000 + depending on condition and porting etc.

Rb25det is virtually a bolt in conversion, if you have a little mechanical knowledge you can do the conversion yourself for about $2500-2800, it's not hard.
Power potential from the rb25 is awesome.

I am looking at doing this conversion myself I know it will bolt in but what wiring is involved? What needs to b done in reg to the fuel system? What extra costs are there apart from engine and labour costs, anything extra? Also where did your source your engine and ecu from and how much?
Cheers in advance
