3" exhaust question

I am sure that this question must have been asked before but here goes anyway.
What benefits and or concerns have people had with a 3'' exhaust on a 4.2 Turbo GU Coil cab over the standard setup?
I would expect that there would be a better throttle/turbo response but wonder whether there have been any concerns with the turbo spooling up more with possible higher temperatures etc.

More than likely yes to spooling up quicker. check the search engine in top right corner, must be previous threads about this.

My temps are fine if not better with the 3" straight through. The exhaust gasses escape a lot quicker with the larger pipe and no muffler, allowing cooler air in quicker, better breathing all round IMO.
