Well what a week but today it's all done...

Yesterday I started with putting it all back together and my good mate Peter (Irish on this forum) came round and we got stuck in.

It ended up being a frustrating day for much of it but by the time I dropped my brother inlaw off we were just about done with the hard stuff.

It was 9.30pm by the time we finished up only to return the next morning to finish off all the trimmings eg: seats, tail shafts and so on.

I will do a proper DIY on all the ins and outs of this terrible job later.

The gear changes feel so much better and the clutch so smooth.

I ended up getting a clutch for a 4.5 GU as it is supposed to be a lot better in the GQ.

I really have to thank my mates Peter for being a legend , Chris (Boots) for a lend of the tranny jack and locating tool and for guidance over the phone and some others not known here.

It really is a job that needs your mates help and I mean 3 is a good number at times.

Took heaps of pics but to tired now I just want to make love to my couch and remote!!!!!!!

As soon as I saw your post I felt your pain, technically it is not that hard but far out it is heavy work......

I need the cash at the moment otherwise I think I would have got a mechanic to do it.

Glad I did though as now everything else is easy compared to this.

Oh and Threedogs there were 4 bolts left over but then I relised they were for the bash plate that I have yet to install so I have done well in that department.

Will check over nuts and bolts in the morning and finally clean my car as it is still feral from last weekend.

I will start soon on it AB I guess in Word document (I am not a computer person)

I don't have the knowledge/time/space/another vehicle to be able to do it myself. Don't really have the funds to pay somebody else to do it either and Murphy's Law, rego is due next week too. LOVELY.

Mate if you were not so far away and even though it pains me beyond belief I would give you a hand with it.

I have a good mate in Drouin and is in the middle of building a grand man shed that would be perfect but he could take 2 more years to finish that???/

Have you tried the water trick yet???

I saved heaps by going to a clutch supplier rather than retail shops..

It truly was a monumental pain in the bum task, but Aussie is a good mate who has helped me out more times than I care to remember so it's a no brainer there. Definitely a task best undertaken with at least two people and all the cranes and jacks.

Many thanks to Mrs. Aussie too, as she kept us well fed over the weekend.

The pics should be pretty good too:-)

Now all we have to do is get that patrol badge off and stick on a Maverick one and his rig will be bulletproof :-p
