Saw this thread on FaceBook and thought you guys would appreciate the porn,,,,,
The story did say it was to be used in the new Nissan Touring cars in next years Super Cars series.
They also said Nissan would be the first and only manufacturer to use a factory production engine for the race series. Now thats simply awesome!
Need to get trolling peeps, find out if this is infact true, if it is The BigFella might be lining up for a new wagon!

I posted this just before here
http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?14520-Nissan-to-use-Y62-Patrol-V8-engine-in-their-V8-Supercars
It's not a new engine, been around for a while it's actually in the Y62 Patrol.

thanks for that, just found the story from the 2012 Motor Show in Sydney.
Engine details dont look to bad,
"Under the bonnet, the jaw-dropping features of the all-new Nissan Patrol continue with a superb 5.6-litre petrol V8 engine (Nissan’s VK56VD engine) delivering 298kW at 5,800rpm and 550Nm at 4,000rpm. Drive is to all four wheels via a new seven-speed automatic transmission. "
not sure I like the body profile though, too much like a Pajero for me.

Dont know about the shape,, like to see inside one, and a diesel would be nice...
but for the shape - that could easily be fixed.
nice size bull bar
side rails and rock sliders
rear 2 wheel carrier
nice size roof racks
light bar up top and a set of spotties on the front bar.
35s with muddies
4 inch lift.
hmmm what new shape,,,,lol

They have V8s really efficient now, think mr Nissan may leave the v8 for the luxury models
and put the v6 merc in all the others
BMW x5 puts out 275 Kw on TRI- turbo diesel motor and 750Nm, not a 4x4 though
the rangie and Mercs aren't even close to those figures
Big V8 diesel would be nice, any in the stable????

I only hope it's not like the new V8 Landcruisers, I know a few blokes around here with them and they reckon they are an over priced piece of crap - no 4 wheeling capability at all. Alright on the blacktop but get them in the rough country and they give up the ghost. I know of one bloke who bought one and has gone back to using his old GU Patrol because it is far more capable.
