Hi All,

I have an 02 GU Patrol 4.8L Auto which I have recently bought.
I want to change all the oils, front and rear diff, T/Case, Engine and Transmission.
I have read conflicting info as to whats a good oil to use, and type for that matter…..
Can anyone make some recommendations for each oil I need??
It is running on LPG also, predominantly.

Thanks

Lpg needs a "LPG compatible" oil.
STD motor oil is not lpg friendly.
And I highly recommend Penrite as a quality product.
And Aussie product to boot.
You should find they have something for all your needs.

If oil is cheap it's cheap for a reason.
cheap may mean recycled oil, dont trust cheap.
This is one area you don't skimp , and if your going bush, well !!.

As a bloke who owned an LPG car, I agree with Robo, you need an LPG compatible oil, LPG cars run hotter so you wont get the same protection if you run a generic motor oil.

As far as the rest go use good quality oils, might be more expensive to start with but it will save you money in the long run.

Here's a link to penrite web site tech bulletin for its HPRGAS oil.
Generic engine oil should not be used in a dual fuel/LPG vehicle.
Lpg affects oil and does cause premature bearing wear, for example.
LPG has bi-products that petrol doesn't and requires a different level of protection for your engine.
A lpg specific oil counter acts the lpg affect on your oil so to speak.

If I'm relying on my 4x4 every day the last thing I want is for CHEAP OIL to let me down, and cost me $$$$
I'd rather pay a premium price knowing my oil is doing its job, one less thing to worry about IMO
Hope that answers your question
