Well I decided that if Badger and I are going to clear that forest I had better get something that made it a bit easier for this old dog...so I ordered a motorised chopper, can't wait for it to arrive so I can try it out on the park down the road..

Yo Dogman you tried that new Fiskar yet?? must say though works better if you chainsaw logs first.
I got that Bruam? chainsaw 72cc motor with 2ft bar. but brought an 18" bar and chain to suit. much
easier to use. Pity they don't come with carry case only chain/bar protector.
Hasn't let me down yet in 1 yr so happy with that.

Figured out that it was because they frown upon sending a 36" axe overseas with a 22" machete and a sharpener. Must think I was going to go Rambo or something

yes, and with harmless objects too - from memory my messages relate to a particular vendor not posting stuff here - but the message was sent from Ama2on.

The allow the 14 inch hatchets and 28 inch splitter but unit the machete or the 36 inch splitter for some reason. Could be a supplier thing or an Australian customs thing

You can't bring in the machete, but you can bring the brush axe - which is like a machete

Amazon is a pretty good site, I like how you can read customer reviews on the same page as the listing. By the way there is a section you can go to so it only shows you the stuff you can get sent to you so you don't even see the stuff that can't be shipped too you.

Just shows how much Australia gets ripped off. When I bought my sub and amp from America, it was $1000 less than what I could get it for anywhere in the country. Paid just a smidge over $500 including shipping PLUS got a free top quality 4G wiring kit worth about $100. That's under a third of the price!

I mean, I like supporting local businesses but come on!

threedogs
18th September 2012, 01:20 PM
Taslucas are you using yours for splitting or as an axe as I have no doubt they can chop. I'll try my X25 next camp on the smaller stuff.
Chainsaw Takes care of the rest, someone posted handle wobbles, cant see how, best axe/splitter I've used by a country mile.

Kristoffa it wasn't axe on one side splitter on other bad pic not showing complete Ad, my bad sorry

Just reading that brochure seems they are all axes, but extremely good at splitting, go figure

Winnie
18th September 2012, 01:26 PM
Nah mate, they definitely have chopping axes and splitting axes. We used the chopping axe for splitting last weekend though and it worked pretty well, not as well as a regular splitter obviously but did the job no worries.
I got the splitter because I use the chainsaw for cutting.

This is the splitting axe.

Anyway, back on track......I've got my Stihl Farm Boss chainsaw, a block splitter and a tomahawk. If i can't do any damage with them, I give up. lol
