Hi, I'm Rob and I'm a borderline retard when it comes to dual battery setups.......
I want to put my own system in to keep it simple. I had an automatic one years ago and it confused the hell out of me and I didn't like it.
I was thinking a simple system with a manual switching mechanism and 2 x starter batteries. My current starter battery is great, so I was thinking of getting the biggest one I can for the auxiliary. The biggest I've seen so far is N70ZZ (IIRC). It'll be used to run a fridge, led camping lights and other small stuff. I want them connected together when I use the winch. I also plan to connect the auxiliary battery up to a solar panel when camping.
So I'm thinking of getting one of these so I can simply switch: -

And putting in a 200 amp fuse on both batteries.

Does this sound enough? Like I said, I want it simple, I'm a simpleton, I reckon I can install this myself and keep it simple. What do you think.
(Also, is there a bigger cranking battery available than the N70ZZ?)
