A man has to have decent tunes in the 4b for the long haul. not much chop in the bush but the commute is a killer.

When i did my GQ i think i put in a 2 way in the front doors and a 3way in the back doors to give a little more bass in the back. I have never done a Sub Woofer in a car.

We're those 6x9 3 ways in the rear. Did you put spacers in?

Spacers will stuff my rear storage unfortunately.

Lol...is there a loom available for the old gq stereos or do I need to wire it all up?

I hope you bought waterproof speakers cos the water tightness of your vehicle is questionable. LOL

There's heaps of room in the rear doors for most 6x9's mine don't have a spacer

Your talking about the speakers in the rear barn doors though yes? If you want to fit them in the second row back seat doors then you might need some spacers and the factory loom won't have speaker wires to there I don't think?

Hi mate, nah just the front door ones and the barn doors is all I'm after.

Winnie

I had to put spacers in to fit 6x9s into my barn doors.

Just get yourself a good set of 6 inchers AB, 6x9s are over rated lol, plus it means you'll have more cutting to do

Winnie

6 or 6.5 inch splits will outperform any 6x9 speaker in my opinion. I regret not going this way.

Yeah I just put 6inch speakers in the back and it took a total of 15min.... I could not be bothered stuffing around any more with big system, just decent sound is all I want.

I was talking about 6x9's in the rear barn doors their AB sorry if that wasn't clear. Previous owner installed them on mine and did a fair bit of choppy choppy to get them in, I haven't got speakers in the back sent and don't need them, the 6x9's give a great range and actually sounds like a small sub anyway

3 way 6 inch speakers in the back of mine sounds good enough easy fit lol.
The front doors on the other hand i still haven't changed as they wouldn't fit straight in have to work something out one day damn window winder hit on them i think they need offset spacers or a 5 inch speaker.

Yeah, I think I'm going to put some quality 3way 6 inches in the front doors, I think they may be the stock ones and they lack a bit.

Wow that is a lot of choppy choppy haha. Here's a photo of mine with the 25mm spacers.
Like I said wish I wish I went with round speakers that would fit behind the trims. Going to make it a bit harder to work out a storage system, I'll probably change them before then.

Thanks gents, got me thinking now...

Only problem with the spacer and my set up is that I need the corner areas where the wheel arches finish to the barn door and the spacer will kill it.

Just put speakers in my mates gq would have been a good idea to check the radius of the window winder first speakers fit perfect just cant go out in the rain unless he wants to get wet. Oops.
