Hey guys just wondering if anyone can recommend where I can get some new remotes (door lock remotes)

The one I got when I brought the beast has slowly developed a button issue and now it's no longer able to lock(unlock works)

Tried to solder the micro button back on but it's not reliable anymore

Tried Nissan but they want like $250 per remote which I thinks just outrageous
They fed me some line about coding the remote costing $100 which is total bollocks

Shopped around a bit and found diamond lock and will key the remote for $45 and Nissan will order in the remote for $158

Now the question is can you recode old remotes ?
E.g if I get one from some one wrecking can it be recoded ?
Does anyone know what the recoding process is ?

Hmmm ... Can't recall the place, but try searching key remotes on the forum search bar mate as I've definitely seen topics on this previously ..

Someone else on a laptop or pc may be able to find and paste the link if like me, you are on tapatalk ...

I have been told this. Have not tried it but it cant hurt.

Get in your vehicle, close all doors.
Using your power lock switch , lock all doors.
Insert and remove your key from the ignition barrel, until the hazard lights flash. Older than '97 - slowly. Newer than '97 - faster.
Lock the doors with the power lock switch before pressing the remote.
Put key in ignition switch and turn to the On position..
Do NOT CRANK or you will have to start again.
After turning the key to the On position, press the Lock button on remote.
Hazard lights should flash. (note..you have to reprogram all remotes when adding a new one , if you don't your old remotes will not work )
If your doing just the one , turn ignition switch off and unlock door and get out and try it.
If you are doing more than one. Leaving first key in barrel with ignition on,
Use power lock switch unlock doors and relock and then hit Second Remote, Lights should flash again , repeat if adding a 3rd remote..
after done just turn key off and unlock door and get out and try.

I don't see why you couldn't use a second hand remote from another vehicle providing that remote is in good working order.

When you put the vehicle into learn mode as described by Bob above you are actually getting the vehicle to learn the signal from the remotes not programming the remotes.

You could try getting a quote from Nizzbits for the remote.
