hey guys,

When i put my GQ wagon in 4x4 and full lock, the front ball joints make a ticking noise when moving. but once straigtened the noise dissapears.
the vehicle is fairly new to me and i do not know whether is has LSD, lockers, or anything.
Apreciate some advice.

They are a lot easier to change in a fourby than in a car. You will find plenty of info on here mate loads of good blokes around.

I had to do both CVs on a mini minor once, WHAT A BATHPLUG of a job that was, never again.
Cheers, the ferret.

they are full floating, drop the wheel and hub of and slide it out, It is a must that you replace the axle seals aswell, when you put the new ones in use some loctite 515 sealant, and make sure you mark you swivel hub bearing cab so the go back on the same way they came off

it will surely be the drivers side CV. I used to be able to blow one at 1100 RPM in my old GQ.... it did have a 351 clevo stroker in it... and lockers... and 37s....
seriously, we got it down to about 25 mins for a straight shaft swap.
lift the front right,
unbolt the locking hub, remove the circlip on the shaft
unbolt the swivel housing wiper seals
unbolt the 8 swivel housing bearing bolts, slide the hub, wheel assembly away,
pull out olf shaft,cv and shrapnel,
slide new one in,
reverse procedure....
if you tilt the axle right , you wont need to drain the diff oil

Yeah mate it is the cv's as you have said and it is a day job as you will want to clean and re-pack you bearings while you are down there
