Howdy one and all. Its been mentioned in passing from some members that at times we are straying away from the family forum values we have here (Fri, Sat, Sun, Great drinking days). Can we all just remember (and i include meself here;-) that the forum is viewed by the wider population than just us here, thus we need to restrain ourselves sometimes.
Thanks All

I hear ya, but dont think its getting coarse, maybe the elbows come out a bit when someone is passionate on the subject, but thats fair and usually goes no further.

Lots of us swear in our daily lives, but forums are not the place for even the f and s words, there is no need to swear to get your message out there.
I try and stay away after a couple of jars, I would only end up saying something I would regret and end up feeling bad.
But having said that, this IS a family friendly forum and I would like it to stay that way.
Cheers, the ferret.

Ha, sometimes I stack on a show when my internet provider goes AWAL, lots of swearing and desk thumping, missus get's agro, I yell at the dog and tell the cat to beat it.
But once I've had my internet fix, I'm normal again, people seem to like me again, even the CAT!!
Cheers, the ferret.

I have not come across any inappropriate posts, but I do not get much time to check them all....................It is anyways a good to get a reminder that we need to watch what we post, well done Growler.

I had to edit a few post a couple of days ago, but on a whole a big pat on the back to the members here for keeping in pretty clean
Just remember all, this forum is world wide so comments made will be seen from members of different race, religions etc
Even if something you write doesn't seem racist / sexist to you, it could be offending another member
Cheers

I am all for keeping it family friendly, after all that is why a lot of us are here.
A thread I started pushed the boundaries and was a bit of a grin, although at times I did wonder what had I started.
Can understand how some may find it went a bit far and not for the the ladies, young ones or at work.
As mods do you let a poster know their post has been edited?
The reason I ask is a while ago a post said someone belonged on another forum if they wanted to carry on like that.
For the life of me I could not figure out whether it was me, someone else, deleted or what. Certainly wasn't clear what the problem was so how could the standard be raised?
If it had been me, and a PM told me so I would not repeat the offence, simple.
I still don't know if I had offended a fellow member.
This is a great place, the language is generally mild and really any differences of opinion are just discussion amongst mates.
Good on you all.....

Don't worry Macca, toddies fingers get away on him sometimes after a few bourbons. The other mods are generally pretty good except maybe that Growler but we need a special mod in all the forums mate. Hahahahah

Most that need editing for racial, sexual etc reasons get a PM to let them know (politely), but I edit swear words all the time and don't tell them ... it's not that bad at all usually, and the swearing side of it is more for the Google words aspect - they scan forums for that sort of thing and you can be pushed down the search list is you breach some arbitrary guideline they use ... So I only do it to keep the forum website high up the search results when someone types in Nissan, Patrol, forum, etc, etc, ...

Hey guys,
I was having another look at AB's post in the introduction thread, may be it could be expanded into a sort of Code of Conduct to cover a couple of the issues that have been brought up in this thread.
The other thing is as MudRunner said about the intro side of things, could it be the first thing you see when you come to this site, a little like the Towballs warning at the top. I know I'm probably creating work for you guys that you don't need, but it might lighten the work load in the long run.
Just some thoughts.
Mark
