Rear coils no longer equal height - which side should cop the short straw?

Didn't pick this up until after I had some second handies blasted and powder coated, but one rear coil is 10 or 15mm shorter than the other. This is with the coil standing on end, comparing the height of the end of the final coil from one spring to the other:1087:

I should have either steered clear of the springs, or had it scragged or reset (or whatever the term is) before I made it pretty.

I am going to put them under Silver as is. My question is, which side gets the short straw/spring?

For some reason I am thinking driver's side. Partly because the left hand side, on road at least does a bit more work than the RHS, and thus might settle more/enjoy the additional height.

Against that, the RHS has me in the driver's seat, and sometimes no one else. so that could be an argument to put the tall one the same side as my rear end

You will find the sag will be the right hand side. Put the long one on the drivers side as that carries your load all the time. The front springs are likely different from factory for the same reason

x2 drivers side springs are 15 mm bigger than passenger side

Hi,

the driver + the spare wheel are all on the rigth of the car, for us in France we put the longuest coil on the right (because of the spare wheel).

In Italy they put the longest coil on the left because mama is enormous,... hahaha:smileyvault-cute-bi

X 3 Longest coil on right side to compensate for driver, fuel tank, battery, and spare tyre. This is standard.

You will find all new sets have longer springs on the drivers side ... this is normal so there is nothing wrong with your springs.

Thinking of doing this with my GQ actually so if anyone has done this I'd be interested to hear how it went. I am figuring that I should do this before forking out for 2 new springs for the back. Might get another couple of years out of them
