View Full Version : 4x4 Transport needed - A young fella has found a bit of strife

macca
11th August 2012, 07:01 PM
He's a young fella from our local 4x4 club, he's in Archer River Roadhouse on Cape York.

He has busted the front out of his 80series, I know I know.

At least he's out there having a look.

He still in the shizen and blowin bubbles.

What he needs is a way to get his 4B to Cairns. There are a couple of mobs at Bamaga and Seisia but are a long way from him.

If you know of a way to get his car out of there I will pass it on to him.

He is desperate and is ringing me tomorrow arvo on a pay phone as he has no phone service.

I will be away from a computer all day tomorrow but you can call me on 0418654361.

Appreciate any help you can think of.

Sh1t mate. I left Weipa this morning and just got to Lakeland.

There's heaps of vehicles around so he should get a tow.

Let me know how he goes mate . I'll be in Cooktown for around a week so if need be I'll leave the van there and go and get him. No problems.

Got them from the Yellow Pages.

Take care out there.

Thank you for the help with getting this recovery set up.

It is my hope that he can organise something from the Cape where he is at the moment.

So frustrating that I can not contact him, as soon as he does I will give him Chris' number.

Rosco that list is going to be a great help I am sure.

I will call you Chris after I have heard from Joel, and post an update here for the other members who have been watching this.

Ned Kelly and A Top Bloke, what a pair, good onya guys.

Cheers Macca

Its been 48 hours since I heard from him.
He has to be sorted by now, hoping he will let us know what happening.
Maybe he's wrecked it and used the money as a deposit on a real 4B.

Joel said to pass on his thanks to you all, especially Chris and he was gratefull to Rosco for looking up that list as well.

He is on his way to the Tip after a couple gave him a hand to fix his car.

They got it to Coen where the bloke giving them a hand welded it back togeather as best he could, turned out he was a boilermaker / welder.

When he rang today he was back at the roadhouse and setting off North after making a few phone calls.

He said he doesnt trust it to drive from Cairns to home so will frieght it for that part of the journey.

The corrogations broke the steering box and panhard rod?? out of the chassis. Be interested to see it when he gets home.

All sounds good, thanks to those who could help and those who were so supportive.

Cheers Macca
