G'day/Evening Fellas

Right i own a 98 2.8 and its having a little trouble trying to turn over, This morning i went to work no worries she started up fine as per usual and off i went. Got to work and took my rig into the yard and used it as a portable music player which was all fine and dandy till my boss asked me to move it. This is when it started playing around. I let the glow plugs warm up and turned the Heat button on like i normally do and nothing, it just sat there trying to turn over. So i grabbed a forklift and skull dragged it (Clutch started) And she went off perfectly. Same when i left work it turned over normally as usual

Got home and decided Subway was on order for lunch so me and the girlie jumped it and once again she was turning over normally, Until it came time to leave the carpark where once again it sat there having troubles firing, So i tried the ol clutch start again (But the missus isnt too good on clutch starting haha :1087:) it sat in the carpark for about 10 minutes till i thought ill give it one more crank and well turned over fine

Now about 20 minutes ago i was out in the rig tinkering putting my new UHF in and i attemped to start it to see if i was going to fire normally, Well it didnt :frown:

Can anyone give me an idea on what the problem maybe?

Right, Just checked a few places on the interweb and found alot of people would get out and prime the pump, so i gave it a shot before kicking it over, Pumped it till it went hard (haha hard :P) And jumped in and waited for the click like i normally do and she kicked over straight away

So what does this mean? My pump is faulty and needs a replacement? Battery is fine so i think i kinda narrowed my own question down but im not exactly a motor wiz, Can do the simple stuff haha but not heavily into this sorta gear

Sounds like the classic hot start issue. Search for "advance plate" on the injector pump, should bring up all the info you need. It's about a $40 part for the plate and o ring.

Hope this helps

Could just be an air leak in the fuel system check hoses from the tank to the pump even the seal on the filter .
Or sometimes covers on the pump leak.
Because the injector pump sucks the fuel up rather then being fed by a pump it sucks in air rather then leaking.
