went out to lcmp park and had a ball on the weekend but noticed a problem. It happens both in high and low range going down hill only. It happens evry 50mtrs or so. Therefore maybe only once down a hill. The car makes a clunck sound and feels as if it moves forward slightly quicker. Like the feeling you get when the front tyres slips on a rock. It sounds like it's coming from the front right but it might just be my dodgy ears. It is a gq wagon with a front air locker. Someone suggested it may be a cv. How would I check this and is it something you could do yourself? I have basic mechanical knowledge. Any ideas?

Do you have the front locker on when it does it does not sound like a CV mate, more likely a uni but if you have the locker turned on then it could be front diff wind up.

Front drive shaft. It could even be your transfer case the chain could be slipping it might be in need of a new one.
