has anyone made a set of bolt on rock sliders for a gq lwb wagon? I've got a few ideas how to go about it , but some pics of the fittings at the chassis and some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Plenty have mate you basically make like a U bracket with a bolt over the top of the chassis to hold it in place then its just a matter of welding your sliders to these brackets.

I welded 1/2" plates to the chassis on my old 4x4, with 4 holes drilled and tapped. I then just bolted steps to these plates.
Was a 75s Troopy and you could jack any side off the ground with the steps, very, very solid.
my GU has TJM outback side steps and they have backing plates with long bolts and "U" bolts.

I am going to use 10mm flat bar welded at the bottom with spacers up the top and two bolts that clamp it to the chassis for the two rear mounts .
Then the box tube in the front mounting point .
One day lol anyone keen to measure up and help and supply the steel so we can make some i am in western sydney i have a pipe bender tig welder etc lol.

Do you want sill protectors or slider style steps?

I want to make a step style, using the aluminium plate on top ( from the useless things that are fitted now) At the mudrhino site, it said that welding to the chassis makes the vehicle unroadworthy here in vic. so bolt ons will be the go.

With welding you do stand the chance of twisting your chassis in a big knock
