Hi all, I have recently purchased a 2009 TD Patrol. Originally I intended to drop a Chinese all in one GPS stereo etc unit in. Fortunately or unfortunately the car I have ended up buying has an aftermarket stereo that is actually half decent so I am now looking at making do.
Car also has factory nav and reverse camera. Which leads to the questions.
I want to split the video from the factory nav so it also is fed to the stereo. The factory nav has non standard connectors, I am pretty sure I can work out which is video and solder a lead off it but if anyone has already done this I would appreciate some input.
The stereo is not connected to the steering wheel control buttons. I have bought a converter which should solve that problem and have found what I am fairly certain is the remote wires but again don't have a wiring diagram so if anyone has done this I would appreciate some advice.
And lastly just out of curiosity there was a plug taped to the factory loom with all the hazard and other console buttons that presumably is only lacking the button, wondering what this was?
Thanks.

If you don't get a response here mate then shoot us a PM and I'll move this question in the electrical category which may help people see it better.

Sorry haven't played with a factory nav yet. Here is the wiring diagram, hope it helps.

Here is the wiring diagram for the remote switches.
There are a few different options depending on what head unit was fitted and if ASCD is fitted.
It seems like the wire colour from the head unit to the remote switches is the same regardless so it should help you out.

Thanks Yendor,
Steering wheel controls are all good now, that confirmed what I had thought.
That Nav diagram doesn't match what I am seeing though. Is that for the right year? I know they have had a few different models over the years. Mine is a VDO Dayton PC5200.
Mine has the GPS controller under the drivers seat (USB maps), I am still unsure if the reverse camera goes to that or direct to the lcd.
The LCD has 3 modular connectors, 2 are standard 6 & 12 pin connectors the other is a fancier Mitsumi 16 pin connector.
Thanks..

I think it is, the manual doesn't really break it down per year.
All I can do is look for the latest revision for the nav before your year model.
There was more pages of wiring diagrams for the nav system, they covered the reverse signal and radio speak cut out.
I will have another look and let you know.

Ok... I did find another earlier wiring diagram, (without printing them out and comparing them), there are only a few minor changes, such as GPS aerial.
You could try downloading the manual from this forum and see if that is the same as your vehicle.
The manual I am looking at didn't come from here.
Where are you located?

Thanks. I have isolated what I am fairly certain is a composite video input from the Nav controller so hopefully plain sailing from here. That diagram definitely doesn't cover what I have and I am certain this is factory, nobody would buy such a garbage Nav unit aftermarket !!
