G'Day All
I've just joined up. not got my patrol yet, should be picking it up from TotalNissan on Friday or Saturday of this week it's a GU7 CRD ST in Polar White
Once I get it I need to go to ARB to get the Winch Bar (sans winch at present) which i'm going to get them to colourcode. Hella 4000's ordered and currently FedEx-ing their way to me...
Cheers

Welcome Jon, great news that you are getting a Patrol mate, enjoy it and the forum.
Before I got my GQ I had a 2007 CRD Patrol, if you require any info just let me know.
Oh by the way, have you checked this club out mate, I hear that they are a great bunch of people: http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?73-Western-Patrol-Club-Inc

Cheers all for the greetings..
Picking it up this afternoon about 4..
Simple enough options list from Nissan
- 6yr/150000Km Extended Warranty
- Headlight/Bonnet protector
- Weathershields
- Rubber Mats
- Boot Protector Tray
- Towbar
I did have the Alloy bullbar and the round IPF lights specified originally, but i dropped them off. My Hellas are now in Belmont with FedEx, so they are going to be here in plenty of time for me to fit them once ARB get my bar ready (still need to order it).

it's not going to change too much for a while. it's hitting the pocket hard buying the bloody thing. that being said, i'm off to ARB in osbourne park tomorrow morning (i assume they're open?) to order a color-coded deluxe winch bar... and i've got 2 Hella 4000s sat next to me at the minute

yeah, this one needs to be multi-purpose. it's predominantly going to be used as a touring vehicle, rather than a weekend plaything. I nearly bought a 40 series cruiser for playing in a few years ago, i wish i had done that rather than kept the mk2 escort i had for fun at the time

ahh but did you get some good folding stuff for escort? or did it rust away?

it just about wiped it's feet. no great profit/loss... i sold it at the end because it was just sat on my drive under a cover. It was pretty much rust free, it had lived all it's life in sunny can-bear-a before i dragged it's sorry ass over to perth

Yeah certainly will, down with all the clubs and the association (hope we don't have trouble with that pesky Land Rover club again :) ).
I won't be making it as I will be chugging down beers in Melb but still worth popping in and introducing yourself to the guys and girls.
Real family orientated club and people are always willing to help out a fellow clubbie.
Membership even comes with a range of disciounts at various sponsors round town.
Did I do a good enough job of selling the club Mr VP Doggy sir??

i treated it to a set of canvas seat covers today. they were a set i picked up second hand a few weeks ago, i got them cheap - with the view that if they looked like cr@p *then* i'd go and spunk $800 on a set of Michelle's Sacs. But they look good....

Can you double my pay rise Mr Doggy sir?

I've just come from 2 Hyundais
we had a 2003 terracan (petrol), but found it thirsty. then we swapped it for a 2006 Diesel Santa Fe - it was a nice enough car but started being a bit troublesome (2 turbos, an intercooler, and a EGR in the space of 10000Km) so i decided to move it along.
Hopefully the Patrol is a long-term car - that's why i went for it - I can't afford to keep changing the "main" family car every few years

G'day mate - welcome aboard. (sorry for the copy and paste introduction, but been away for over a week and a lot of catching up to do!!! LOL). As you've no doubt noticed, heaps of useful information, great people and a good laugh to be had on the forum so make the most of it and get amongst the conversations. Don't forget to throw a few happy snaps of the rig as you continue to build it in the members ride section - we never get bored of looking at them!!!
