I'm pretty crap at searching for stuff on forums BUT I try to find this info before asking the age old question ...

What Engine Oil do you guys find works best in your troll?? Amelia is a 2006 4.2TD
Brad thinks the oil he's running may be too thin and asked me to check in here (cuz you know, you guys are just sooooooooooo awesome :smileyvault-cute-bi:smileyvault-cute-bi:smileyvault-cute-bi )

Ok Ok castrol GTX 80w90 comes in a black plastic container takes 7odd litres to fill including the 2 oil filters which are total mofos to take off and not spill every where and mines a 1990 td42 no turbo blah blah blah hahahahahahaha

15w-40 is the best viscosity for australian conditions. The only time you may want to go thinner is if your operating in snow like conditions all the time. Check your owners manual it will have a specification for the correct oil go to a supplier and ask for that spec and they should be able to help you out. I run Shell Rimula 15w-40 in the 3 patrols we own :). Just grabbed my manual for a TD42 the spec is- API CC, CD, CE, CF, CF-4 or JASO DH-1*1.
