I'd be interested in this has anyone run the extra shim over a long period of time and how did the diff hold up with the extra load on it.
Mine is a 97 model and had a different diff center i thought was just a 4 pinion open and the other day i pulled it apart and found it was lsd with some sort of weird small clutch packs
I found damage on the shims where they run on a hex one was flogged out.

I have a mate who shimmed his with a .7mm shim of ebay but it locked it completly, lucky for him he is a machinist so he machined u a .4mm shim and it workes fantastic. I bought a shim for mine but after seeing my mates I didnt end up installing it as my lsd is still good. the best shims to buy are ones that are machined not stamped, crappy stamped ones have a little lip from the press.
