yes France, my GQ SWB is a RD28T engine, 1994 LX, 254000km, my wife's Patrol are all gGQ SWB also, a 1990 one RD28t, a 1994 one RD28t and a 1990 one Body only (that a will move to the 1990 RD28t, this one is in very bad corrosion).

Do you now where to find sliding windows rubbers for GQ SWB in Australia ? we can find them in Nissan store but the price is close to 1100 AUD for the 2 sides. Anyway i work to rebuild those parts (with one builder and one dealer). may be that can interest Australian friends also. I know that fixed windows are on the market, but I want more and better for all of us and also for our Patrol.

Pierre.

Hi Pierre, try Oz Auto Moulds and Rubbers, they have a vendor thread here:http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?7552-Mq-gq-new-sliders-aftermarket

But he hasn't been on here for a while. You would be better of emailing them. This is there website address: http://www.ozautomoulds.com.au/contactus.asp

Not sure if the long wheel base and short wheel bases frames are the same or not, but know they do do MQ frames

Cheers

Todd

Dear Todd,

i edit my messages because i think my Y60 is GQ SWB model and not a MQ, sorry but we haven't the same model name in France. in France we have Y60 short or long, Y61 short or long, mine is Y60 short.

Pierre.

Hi Pierre and welcome aboard mate. Is it just the rubbers you're looking for or has the whole frames rusted out in the rear bottom corners? Have you tried looking on ebay?

Hi Clunk,

i checked everywhere, I found rear rubbers, frond windscreen rubbers, but nothing to change the sliding windows, I thaught that scottsoldautorubber.com.au could help, but nothing seems to be possible with him.

Are you able to post up some close up photos of the rubber and frame. The frames are known to rust badly and most people just replace the whole sliding windows and frames with frameless solid windows

Hi Clunk,

I know about fixed windows, the frame have also the same problems on that side of the earth, the rubbers become dry and often end up breaking.

Here is a picture :

I have the same problem with mine- long body though............. you'll need to replace the whole lot but I don't know who does them for the shorty's though. If I find someone I'll let you know but hopefully someone else on here may be able to help.

Maybe try Nizzbits or patrolapart........ also vendors on here

Thank you Clunk,

I will check the websites you told me. In fact all the glass are ok, we just need to change the frame (sometime), rubber (most of the time), and windows seal ( most of the time ). It's really strange as my wife's GQ SWB windows are ok (except the rubbers and the windows seal) with 270 000 kms, and another one with 190000 kms is completly destroyed (picture above).

In Europe we have UMM ( not sure they were exported to Australia) those ones are made with aluminium frame and not problem 25 years later,...

Pierre.

G'day and welcome to the forum mate! Enjoy your stay! Good luck with finding those rubbers.

Also Just so that you are aware, in Australia we refer to our Patrols as MK, MQ, GQ(Y60) and GU(Y61)
