My GQ is just about to have a new Holley gas modified carby fitted and as such, I won't have a mixer on top of the carb, so I can go away from the gas type air filter and fit a standard airbox (if I choose to) and a snorkel.

At the moment, I'm thinking I will run the snorkel, fit a diesel canister filter in the factory location behind the headlight, then run flexy tube from that into the stock airbox inlet.

Is that the way most people do it or am I making things hard on myself? I like this option as I'm using stock airboxes (less police/rego hassles) and because id like to have a filter after the snorkel and before the carb for bugs/mud/trees etc.

I have a few other options.

1. Snorkel into factory canister airbox, flexy tube, and aftermarket Holley carby top with 4" inlet to connect the tube to.

2. Same carby top, inline aftermaket cylinder type air filter, flexy tube to the snorkel inlet,

3. Factory carby air filter, flexy tube straight to the snorkel.

I haven't seen a snorkel setup before and I don't have either factory airbox as it was an old gas conversion which did away with all factory filters.

I can source both factory air boxes easily enough and would prefer it to look stock-ish, as a Holley under the bonnet already is pushing it, should I encounter a PITA copper.

Which way should I go?

holley gas carb ? is it a straight gas setup? What type of gas setup do you have?what is the convertor brand as some do not ledt themselves to forced air as in a snorkle
