Hi guys, How are you all? This is my first post and i hope i have listed it in the right place... I have a 1990 LWB GQ ford maverick/nisan patrol on gas and fuel. Yesterday i went out to king lake to have some fun with a few other 4wd and found that after driving thru some wet mud, clay, bog holes that the clutch started slipping real bad and after getting on the high way it become new again... Any info on why and how to fix this wil be good... Sorry if this has been asked here. Thanks so much in advance.

Sorry Mate never encountered that problem but Im sure someone here has Im Guessing mud has gotten into the inspection plate on the gearbox and hit the clutch plate and caused it to slip .....not sure but some one will be along im sure

Check the rubber boot on the side of the bell housing that covers the clutch fork(passengers side of the bell housing) that may have come loose or be spilt/perished. That would allow the water to enter the bell housing and cause your clutch dramas.

Hope this is of help
