Ha-ha, thanks guys, Todd ,its a case of "jack of all trades", (master of none, lol)

Its not the first one ive done, i made the mistake of "criticising" the cake my mrs made for one of the kids years ago, and you know what they say.... "if you dont like it !" ........ so for years now ive been designated cake decorater for the kids birthdays

For you and sharee, Mat ? .....that would have to be a "Patrol" Wedding Cake :D

Bwahaa, yeh i dont think 2pak would taste very nice at all, although, after using a airbrush now, it has made me think about getting another airbrush to use with paint.

AWESOME JOB !!!! My son would love that cake ...

Thanks mate, im sure my kids deliberately come up with harder and harder cake ideas every birthday, anyway everyone at the party seemed to like it, but i still get mixed feelings watching all that work get hacked to bits tho (ha-ha) :o

Nice work Amelia, thats like the skyscraper of cakes, looks like it would have fed 100 people, did you take a close up of the figures on top ?

My kids always choose their own theme to the cakes ive made, Harry Potter has not been a choice as of yet, more what ive done is the younger kids stuff, like Lightning mcqueen ,Scooby Dooby Doooooo !, and Spongebob etc .......

Ah cool, thanks, i think id have bit harry's head off just for fun :fish:

I can see people saying wow $400 for a cake, but concidering the sheer amount of cake/fondant, and knowing the stupid amount of time involved, its probly not that bad if you didn't have to do anything :first:

The 7 cakes were for each of the Harry Potter books - were on a board with a dowl down the middle. Freeking hard driving from the Gold Coast to Ipswich with it in my lap - Brad was driving like he had glass sitting in my lap LOL

There was chocolate, caramel, white chocolate & Jaffa mud cakes. Was being "dessert" for weeks!!

Gotta say I love your cakes - wish I could bake

I dunno....... some of your posts are pretty "creative" Todd, :tease: (bwahhahaaw !)

Makes me hungry just hearing about it Amelia.

I dont actually do any "baking" as such, so you dont really need any cake cooking skills to do anything ive done (i can burn salad) the mrs supplies me with a pre made plain cake base (well chocolate mud) , then as with the dino cake , i may use/add a large pre made jam roll as a body, then i cut shape and decorate.

I do have this problem (so im told) that i have to make "everything" 100% edible, but i kinda hate the idea of having to pull bits of wood/metal out before you can eat, or saying no dont eat that bit !

Yeah you gotta be able to eat it all - the figurines on Jades cake were made out of icing but she wanted to keep them.

Think I'll be putting an order in for my cake next year .. Very Clever Man
