Sub tank light on 98, GU, 4.2l diesel

Hi,
Just brought a GU 4.2L diesel, and the sub tank light is staying on, both have fuel in them, button doesn't seem to be doing anything either!!
I have tried putting everything to sleep by disconnecting batt, but no love!!
Any suggestions would be great, thanks!!

Normally disconnect batt for 30 secs does the job and resets. Do you have a turbo timer hooked up to the same fuse ? If so and t/timer is on it will cause the same prob

No turbo timer, and no turbo!
Tried disconnecting batt, but as I said no luck!
I have a feeling it may be the switch as the light on it isn't working either!!
I'll have a play around with it n let u know what I came up with!!

check earth wire might be loose in dash

Found a loose earth wire, put it to earth, no fix, fuse is also fine!!
Still haven't pulled out switch yet,

The light is now out n all systems go!!
I removed and cleaned earth cable for an hour, while it was disconnected, clean all earth points near batt!!
